GLOBAL WARMING IS THE BIGGEST HOAX OF THE XXI CENTURY.

Sure it's happening, maybe not as fast as the Sierra Club would like you to believe or as slow as the good ole boys driving their Hummers. Most people don't really care and won't do anything about it as long as they're not directly affected. They're too lazy.

Point is, that IF it's happening, and you can take reasonable and inexpensive steps to help reduce it, why not? Every tree you plant sucks up some carbon dioxide, and it looks nice, and maybe gives you some shade in the summer or a windbreak in the winter. Much of the rest is politicians and other nut-cases.

"The National Academy of Sciences report, Climate Change Science: An Analysis of Some Key Questions, begins: "Greenhouse gases are accumulating in Earth's atmosphere as a result of human activities, causing surface air temperatures and subsurface ocean temperatures to rise" [p. 1 in (5)]. The report explicitly asks whether the IPCC assessment is a fair summary of professional scientific thinking, and answers yes: "The IPCC's conclusion that most of the observed warming of the last 50 years is likely to have been due to the increase in greenhouse gas concentrations accurately reflects the current thinking of the scientific community on this issue" [p. 3 in (5)].

Others agree. The American Meteorological Society (6), the American Geophysical Union (7), and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) all have issued statements in recent years concluding that the evidence for human modification of climate is compelling (8)."

You can stick your head in the sand all you want, but yes, people all over the world believe in global warming, climate scientists in particular.

Imagine when the BIG TOBACCO companies would say smoking does not kill you back in the 50s and 60s. They even had their own scientist investigate and lie to support their claims. However people were dying from cancer, babies were having withdrawal effects, and other serious illness but still BT said "smoking issafe". Well today we know that SMOKING KILLS YOU. Liken this today to GLOBAL WARMING. We have many scientists who were paid be oil industries to say that carbon dioxide is not hurting the environment..meaning keepon BUYING OUR OIL SO WE CAN GET RICH.. However now we see our polar ice caps melting at astounding rates, we see hurricanes on the magnitude unparalled, and we see drastic changes in temperature. Compare this to Big Tobacco, it is the SAME idea. Only until we see GODDAMN East coast under sea will people say..OH I GUESS THEY WERE RIGHT..I would rather be proactive instead of reactive in this instance

If it was called global climate change I would be more inclined to believe it.

Denver has a high of 14 toady and it will be in single digits tomorrow.

I think the cause of the ice caps melting is all these scientists testing up there.

Seeing as how the environmentalists never bothered to explain why they were so wrong about a hole in the ozone they claimed was forming over North America in the 80s (a space shuttle flew up and found this wasn't true), I see no reason to believe them now.

It's pure horsehillary. It's a design of far-left wackos who want to return the US to its economy of 1830. It is a scheme to expand the size of government to proportions we cannot imagine. Wacko environmentalism is the new home of former Communists and people in general who hate freedom and prosperity for anybody but themsleves.
