my ipod keeps cutting off?

everytime i try to put a song on my 30gb ipod it cuts off then keeps askin me to restore whats wrong?

Try and flick the hold button back and forth until it is off hold, then hold Menu and the selection button at the same time. The apple sign should appear on the iPod and it should work.
