Almost 1 million unmarried heterosexual Americans who live together in Florida, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Dakota, Virginia and West Virginia are violating state laws against "lewd and lascivious" cohabitation. It is not illegal in Georgia.

This being said, he can claim you as a dependant for tax purposes, but he cannot use you as a qualifying individual to qualify for head of household status.

Its not illegal to live together in GA, how would they enforce that law? But if your question is about taxes go to irs.gov and check they also have a hotline and will answer any of your questions. :)
