3.0 - 3.6

You definitely want to maintain at least a B average to remain competitive. I think it's self-explanatory why you need a 3.0 or higher.

It always helps to have good grades, but once I got into the job market and started interviewing candidates, I discovered the real truth. Companies (my experience is in Fortune 100) are very wary of people with grades over 3.6, and I have been reminded many times (by HR and hiring managers) to grill these interviewees like no other.

Basically, if you grades are that high, it tells employers that you are a book worm with no life and no people skills. At that point, it is up to you to make darn sure the interview PROVES you have what it takes. Nobody is going to scoff at a grade above 3.6, but it certainly doesn't carry the tone you think it does in the professional world.

Grades, what you majored in, and which school you went to actually matter very little, unless you are specifically targetting exclusive programs/jobs. People hire based on experience, personality, and company compatibility. The fall back on student record only to evaluate you if you don't have enough experience to judge.

It can be uncomfortable to go into an interview with a GPA less than 3.0. 3.5 is a much better number to have on the Resume.

well, 3.0. Schools require it to move on to masters, so why shouldnt you? But, if you want to be extraordinary,...get a 3.5...thats when the school recognizes that you are a good student..and if you get a 4.0, nobody can say no to you.......BUT...it also depends on your school....if you go to a low ranked school...try getting into a better school......if you cant because of credits required to pass in the next school...do all sorts of fund raising, and helping, and volunteering in the summer and it will definately help you move onto the next stage...

3.5 or higher with a decent list of references and staying active with the school is a good starting point

3.6 GPA. But you need all the important extra-curricular stuff to make you a desirable candidate.

5.0 or higher, anything lower, and your f**ked, or you should stick to a associates degree, but then again, you can always drop out.
