Your body will tell you what you are needing. It is very possible that you just aren't getting enough salt in your body and that is why you are craving the salt water because your body says that you need it. When you are sick you need food and water even more because it helps to get you better.

The salt in the water is probably making you want to drink more.
When you eat salty food, your body will want liquid to offset the salt content. You are basically combining the two.
Is there a reason you started to put salt in your water? If not, don't do it. If you put too much salt in the water, your body will start to pull fluids from your blood to help balance the salt content in your stomach. That's not a good thing.

You could have a type of vitamin defecientcy. Make sure your salt has iodine in it, as this is a necissary nutrient. You should tell your doctor about your craving as well. Having too much salt can dehydrate you. And make sure you are taking Tylenol to keep your fever down.

Salt water dehydrates you so be careful. It's probably not the best craving to indulge but after being sick your body may be a bit low on the sodium stores, especially if the fever was making you sweat. You may want to give your doctor a call on this one.

It sounds odd but your body's probably craving it for a reason. If you had a fever, your body may be missing salts and that's why.

Cravings that you get when you are pregnant are usually caused by your body craving something that it is lacking. Your body needs more fluid when you are pregnant, and it won't hurt. Because of the flourides and chlorine that are put in tap water, I suggest buying drinking water (BEWARE: my moms drinking water had 4 other chemicals added to her pue water, read the labels)

You may have Pica which is an iron deficiency seen commonly in pregnancy and women start to crave weird things such as salt, dirt, mud, soap etc...make sure you are taking your prenatal vitamins and getting enough iron in your diet.

I would ask your Dr., I know too much salt is not good for you. You can retain water and get sick. Be careful

If you are pregnant talk to your doctor about this. Strange cravings like that can be a sign of problems that can be easily treated.
