I bought a TRACFONE about a year ago. I bought the one year card. A few times I had to buy more minutes. I was under impression when I purchased more minutes, my one year would be extended, but it never changed from initial date. So I figured only when you go totally with minutes rather than year card does the date get extended.

Then I bought a card when I had a little less than 2 months to go, and it extended my year to two months later.

What gives? Any idea?

The cards you added during the year only set the experiration date a maximum of 120 (now 180, I think) days ahead from the date of card activation, and if that was within the year, you only get the talk minutes, not the subscription time. Only with a 'one year' card you get one year added to your expiration date, up to max. two years.
