Pads are healthier, but tampons make me feel more secure. I don't like feeling like I'm wearing a diaper or worried that my pad has leaked. Also pads aren't very convenient when all you wear are g-strings and thongs!

Most definitely, tampons.
They're just as healthy as pads, when changed on a regular basis, regardless of the absorbency level. Toxic Shock Syndrome almost never happens, now that we understand how to avoid it. And if you don't have time to change one or the other, you need to re-evaluate your schedule...Keeping an old pad in place may be less of a health risk, but have not doubts that others can smell it. Whichever option you choose, please do change it regularly!
I find pads simply spread the mess around, and are not nearly as absorbent as the ads make them seem. Additionally, I have found that there is no way to make the pad not bulky...when wearing them, I always felt as if there was a giant bump coming out of my behind that everyone could see! On top of that, there's the rustling paper sound that you make with every step, telling everyone that it's that time of the month!
You can't feel a tampon once it's in. Others can't see it or hear it, and therefore, don't need to know about your cycle. They're also the ONLY option if you want to wear a bathing suit.
FYI, "the keeper" is a fairly icky option...It involves putting your fingers deep into yourself in order to install and remove the cup.

Better for what?
I use different things at different times. Most of the time, I use a tampon. I use a pad overnight though. I don't like the bulkiness of the pad and how it spreads the mess around. Tampons are more discreet.

Pads if you are a beginner and if you are not either one but pads are better because tampons you can get infection and change it a lot more even if you don't go to the bathroom

Personally I preferred tampons. (I use the word preferred because I had a hysterectomy, and don't have to deal with that anymore.) I think tampons are not messy, you can flush them, (just not the packaging they come in), and you don't feel like you're wearing a bulky pad. As far as "better", maybe the pad because it isn't inserted in your body, and tampons have been associated with toxic shock syndrome...even though I never had it. I hope this helps.

Tampons. They are more hygienic. There is no menstrual fluid leaking out of you and onto a pad that stays pressed up against your skin. There is no odor. And it can be flushed down the toilet instead of hanging out in your wastebasket which can be gross for your eyes and nose. There IS a risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), but this risk is virtually nonexistent if you change your tampon regularly and practice proper hygiene.

I like pads. They are much easier to use. If you can't change it in a certain time, you don't have to worry about getting that condition or disease you can get from keeping a tampon in too long.
I just make sure I get overnight ones, and I use another one of a smaller size that goes up on my bum side so I don't have to worry about leaks.

their both about even but it depends on what you want. tampons are cleanlier but come with some risk. pads are outside so they are easy to use. but i prefer pads.

whichever you prefer but tampons needs to be changed every 2-3 hours and dont use maxi or high absorpancy it might lead to toxic shock syndrome(TSS) pad can be used over, whichever you are more comfortable with good luck and good health, dear!
edit: tampons arent bad its just that they cant stay for long so you have to always change them, never leave it in overnight!!!!! and you cant use high absorpancy ,use the lowest absorpancy as posibble and be clean.then you have nothing to worry about.you should always change tampon/pad regularly regardless i its a pad and you wont get an infection
if you have anymore questions ask for my email and email me because i took a health class and fell in love with it lol
