I haven't started my puberty (I'm still 12 y/o) and I've heard about people getting their yest infection somewhere. I just don't know where! eeek....I thought it was under your breast or when you put too much of something in the downstairs part....
I really need to know this stuff before I start anything.
Thanks!!

You can actually get yeast infections anywhere on your body that is warm and moist. So your mouth, your feet, your underarms, your under-breast area... anywhere. What women are mostly referring to when they say "yeast infection" is a vaginal yeast infection. The symptoms are a white, heavy, thick discharge and a LOT of itching. Just about every woman will have one at some point: it is no fun but it usually isn't anything serious.
If you want to avoid yeast infections, keep yourself clean (just wash with mild unscented soap: don't douche, since it messes with your body's natural acid/base balance). Wear breathable underwear made of cotton, rather than nylon. If you have diabetes, make sure you keep it controlled with diet or medication. And when you get old enough to have sex, make sure it is protected sex (condoms!) with clean, disease free boys (or girls). You still probably won't get away without an infection forever, but it'll lower your risks.

Yeah you can get a yeast infection "down there" and under your breast. As long as you keep the areas clean and dry, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. When going swimming, try not to stay in your wet clothes for too long and whatever you do, loan out your panties. If you do make sure they get a GOOD washing when you get em back. Cause yeast infections can be spread from person to person.

a Yeast infection is a candida infection. It can be under the breasts of large heavy pendulous breasted women, especially diabetics. It is found in women and men with folds in their skin, like layers of their obese abdomen.... It can also be in the vagina. They are caused by antibiotics, or an improper balance of the normal flora (bugs) in the vagina. It is also caused by douching which disrupts the normal balance and causes more yeast to grow than is normal. It is a white cottage cheese like discharge and it is not normal to get one. Women and girls that get them freqently should be checked for diabetes. There is also bacterial vaginosis which is caused by the flora shifting to an unhealthy balance. Talk to your health care provider. they can answer any questions you don't feel comfortable asking your parents or teachers.

A girl gets a yeast infection down there in her vagina. It's nothing to worry about- you'll most likely get one in your lifetime! Sometimes you just randomly get them. Pretty much the only symptom is a lot of itch down there! It itches like crazy! There is creams and stuff out there though, which help a lot. Yeast infections only last for a couple of days, and they're nothing to worry about. Welcome to womanhood!

your body naturally produces yeast. sometimes the body's production of it gets out of whack. especially if you take some types of antibiotics and medicine like that.
some symptoms are: vaginal discharge, itching or burning, you might have an odor, stuff like that.
babies can get thrush in their mouths. this is also caused by yeast. however, i do not know if grown people can get this. the common symptom of this is a white coating on the tongue and the inside of the cheeks.

a yeast infection is in the vagina, it is natrual to have yeast in your body. A overpopulation causes a infection. thinks like going on antibiotics or taking very hott baths and wearing very tight underwear made from polyestor type fabrics can give you a infection. it is easy to treat but very uncomportable, it is itchy and smelly.

Okay... it happens most commonly in the vagina. It is a very common infection and can be treated with medicine. It is not a disease, just an infection...
It happens all the time to women, and is very common... Don't stress!!!! It can be treated...

from what i know...it is possible to get a yeast infection from wearing thongs, or anything pushing up 'in you' and any really overly tight fitting in that 'area'
but if you plan on wearing them, just rotate from panties to thongs, and get the right size and you should be fine.
