There is no love lost
where love was never found
You can try, but you can't run from the truth
and keep both feet on the ground
I am the rolling surf
and you are the wind that makes me swell
our passion is a mighty storm
that wind and waves foretell
The taller the tree, the deeper the roots
the richer the soil, the sweeter the fruit
in love's orchard flows a pristine stream
that dregs of broken dreams can not pollute
You can't find love until love is lost, and love can not always be recovered
but sometimes love is there all along, in which case, true love is not found it is discovered

The Dream - Graeme Edge (Moody Blues 1969)
When the white eagle of the North
Is flying overhead
And the browns, reds and golds of autumn
Lie in the gutter, dead
Remember then, the summer birds
With wings of fire flaying
Come to witness Spring's new hope
Born of leaves decaying
Just as new life will come from death
Love will come at leisure
Love of love, love of life
And giving without measure
Gives in return a wondrous yearn
Of a promise almost seen
Live hand-in-hand
And together we'll stand
On the threshold of a dream....

don't know how this one will go over, but here goes. I remember this one from high school (1980's)
When you and I are miles apart
Can sweet sorrow break your heart.
I love you darling, yes I do
Sleep is sweet when I dream of you.
All your love is like a rose
Night is here so I must close.
With care read the first word in each line and
You will find the question that is on my mind.
What do you think??

take this kiss upon the brow
and in parting from you now
left me a vow
that you are not wrong who deem
that your days have been a dream
yet if hope has flown away
in a night or in a day in a vision or in none
is it therefore less gone?
is all that we see or seem but a dream within a dream?
as i hold within my hand
grains of the golden sand
how few yet how they creep
through my fingers to the deep
while i weep while i weep
oh God can i not grasp one with a tighter clasp
oh God can i not save ONE from the pitiless wave
all that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.

In my garden a lily grows
White beside the reddest rose
I will pick one or the other
When I see a whistling rover
Ride into my garden, reckless
I am waiting for him, breathless

There is a Lady Sweet and Kind
by thomas ford
There is a lady sweet and kind,
Was never a face so pleased my mind;
I did but see her passing by,
And yet I'll love her till I die.
Her gesture, motion, and her smiles,
Her wit, her voice my heart beguiles,
Beguiles my heart, I know not why,
And yet I'll love her till I die.
Cupid is winged and he doth range,
Her country, so, my love doth change:
But change she earth, or change she sky,
Yet, I will love her till I die.

i got one written by a cool "unknown" still alive guy:
2 my Ex
Of loving beauty you float with grace
If only you could hide your face
Kind, intelligent, loving, hot
I just described what you are not !
I want to feel your sweet embrace
But don't take that paper bag off your face
I love your smile, face and eyes
Damn, I'm good at telling lies !
I see your face when i am dreaming
Thats why i always wake up screaming !
My love, you take my breath away
What did you step in to smell that way ?
My feelings for you have no words to tell
Except for maybe ''GO TO HELL!!!''
What inspired this amorous rhyme ?
Two parts vodka, one part lime !
isn`t it simply..great?! i love that poem! happy valentines! ;))

This one is mine:
Your name is like a melody,
I sing it day and night,
but when I look upon your face it gives me such a fright.
Your fashion sense is excellent,
I love the styles you wear,
but when I see that face of yours it gives me quite a scare.
Your voice is sweet as ice cream
and a piece of apple pie,
but when I glance upon your face I almost want to die.
