Well it depends on where you fall on the spectrum. If you're for free trade then you have to recognize out sourcing as a consequence of it. With no trade barriers companies are going to go where the labor is cheaper - it's a no brainer. What the nation being affected by out sourcing has to do is find an area to specialize in that other countries can't do. For the U.S. this means expanding the service industry and technology instead of manufacturing. Obviously this isn't easy and doesn't happen over night, but free trade can happen over night which leaves tons of people open to outsourcing.

If you're like Lou Dobbs, a protectionist/populist looking out for the middle class free trade and the out sourcing that comes with it is just plain bad. It can't be remedied and shouldn't be tried. We need to worry about us first, not the rest the world.

Out sourcing is never good for America. It increases the cost of goods and services because it decreases competition. It also diminishes substantially the job market. It also greatly increases the trade deficit which means the national debt will get higher and interest rates will go up.

YOU CAN'T TALK ABOUT OUTSOURCING WITHOUT TALKING ABOUT IN SOURCING.. LOOK AT WHAT WE HAVE IN SOURCED HERE IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY. WHILE OUR DOMESTIC BRAND RUN TO MEXICO AND OTHER THIRD WORLD NATIONS FOR LABOR AND PARTS, THE JAPANESE AND THE GERMANS BRING THERE FACTORIES HERE--MERCEDES BENZ, NISSAN, TOYOTA, ETC. THAT COMPLETES A WHOLE PICTURE. WE ALMOST ALWAYS TALK ABOUT ONE SIDE OF THE COIN BUT HARDLY EVER DO WE TALK ABOUT BOTH. WHEN WE DO IT GIVE A TOTALLY DIFFERENT SLANT TO THINGS. WE BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND THE WHOLE PICTURE WHEN ALL PERTINENT SUBJECT ARE ADDRESSED.

EXTREMELY BAD! It has already affected thousands of industries in the USA. Notice when you call technical support for any program you need, the person does not even speak tangible English.

I am so in agreement with Cherryrip and Sultan on this one.... and good question, by the way. I could rant on and on about this, but those two said it well.
