Are there any ethical concerns about it? Isn't it a renewable resource so then there wouldn't be any.

Oil is not a renewable resource however and will ruin the Earth even more then it is now. However, geothermal energy is, but doesn't it still cause some concern?

Geothermal energy is possibly the best source of energy this planet has. it is relatively simple, and completely NON-polluting. However, as with everything else, it has been largely ignored because it's easier to work above ground. Nevada has several geothermal plants because the heat source is fairly shallow, most areas have sufficient heat sources 1 mile deep. it is very difficult at this time to drill that deep. once a geothermal plant is built, and operational, it is largely self-sustaining with very little cost, and manpower.

The only thing more free than geothermal energy would be solar. Geothermal is an untapped resource that could be used almost anywhere but its not as efficient to tap and expensive to build extractors.
