Who can think of an example where the words alone don’t give you the meaning or perhaps are even misleading? Like in can be a sign or something something someone says in a conversation, etc. It's for a homework assignment and I am trying to think of an idea to do the research on.

What about "I got a nice thing from the shop". None of those words tell you what you bought? Or maybe it was stolen? And isn't "nice" subjective?

What is this thing called LOVE?
What is THIS thing called love?

Slow children playing can mean "slow down there are children around".
Slow children playing can mean "developmentally disabled children are around".

This has more to do with grammar but...
"What's for dinner mom?"
"What's for dinner, mom?"
In the first you are asking your mother what you are going to be eating. In the second you are asking if you are going to be eating mom for dinner.

you have to keep a computer cold, so it doesnt freeze, (you have to keep it a cool temp, so it doesnt overheat and freeze
