It is possible, but why would they? How much information could they get? And what would the relevance of that information be? At some point, they'd need human operators to keep track of everybody and it sounds like a waste of time. No good, important information is going to turn up in yahoo answers :)

Blair's cronies probably do to see exactly how the public see them. This gives them a chance to, come the next General Election of the local polls, in May, say that we will do this and we will do that. A bit like that clinically obese theiving jock going around telling other world leaders that his vision is to make all British People, not just some. Funny that seeing as his taxes have caused untold amount of mayhem and misery for thousands if millions of people. How he plans on making me rich when he taxes me sooooooooooooo bloody much I have no idea.

Would you feel safer if a responsible agency is scanning this?
I do! The World Trade Center Towers would still be standing if the scanners in the airport, and the FBI(that knew about Atta and his crew in July)had picked them up.
It is a thing that could be abused, but they don't have enough Law Enforcement Officers to go around,so one Officer behind a monitor console can do the work of many Patrol Officers.
The more eyes in the sky,the better!

I should think that they do, it would be stupid not to. As for not worrying about it if you are innocent, These scans will be here forever. Maybe the Government is responsible, but who is to say that a future government will use this intelligence gathering as a toll to suppress legitimate dissent and terrorise the population? The statement "If you have nothing to hide you have nothing to worry about" is just plain dumb.

Nothing would surprise me about this police state we live in. Libraries are clocking what you read now. I reckon the day is swiftly coming when TVs will have a camera and microphone built into them to transmit key words back to the authority.

I think smartass is concerned we are all going to get a visit from the Thought Police. Sadly they have already thoroughly infiltrated this site and seem intent on prosecuting people for Thought Crimes at all juctiors

Just wait til the next time you book an airline ticket to the states.

OF COURSE they check these. They are sitting there right now , looking.

There are certain key words that will draw their attention in particular.

But as long as you have nothing to hide, who cares?

soap box rab is bang on, by the way that common answer people give, you know "have you got something to hide" well you have, good ideas, are against the government, our government and police are so bent, if anybody speaks the real truth they are considered subversives and are watched by these brainwashed secret forces. So stand your ground and if you have something just and honest to say, say it dont let them shut you up.

Yes...have you noticed when you answer a few Question's especially if they are Religious or Political ones ...you get someone "stalking" you for a few questions checking what your answers are...then a few days later when you check for the person they don't exist - and when you ask a non-Politically Correct Question - hardly anyone answers ...At least it is keeping the Spook's on their toe's..
