Excuse me if I come off mean, but regarding something like this you need to get the real. First of all DO YOUR RESEARCH! The correct names are Zeta Phi Beta, Delta Sigma Theta, Alpha Kappa Alpha, and Sigma Gamma Rho (whom you forgot to list like they are not a part of the divine nine). ALSO BE VERY DISCREET? No one should know what you are thinking. Its very easy to find out especially posting on sites like this. A few weeks back I saw a posting from an interest at the school I use to go to. See how easy? Who is active on your campus? What is your reason to be Greek? Who do you fit in most with, or stand out from? who is about the business? who has high gpa's? who stays in mess on campus? who has been suspended? Generally some ppl are the type that like to shake things up and be the different one, others find a sorority that they fit into. Remember this is a lifelong commitment. With that being said you will not be in the same Chapter after you graduate, so the sorority you choose needs to be one that you really believe in. Community outings, volunteer events are not closed to non greeks, participate in them and see who sits well with you. An internet site can't give you an answer on this, it has to be in your HEART. This is just a small portion of the answers you should be looking for. I am a finerwoman of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. I will list reason you should and should not join Zeta.
Ten reasons you SHOULD NOT join Zeta!
1. You just want to get close to a Sigma
2. You just want to be in a sorority so that you can wear paraphernalia
3. you're just doing it because your mother and everyone else you know is a Zeta so you figured why not
4. you're fascinated by our stepping abilities and quite frankly you just want to step
5. You think it will be easy for you to become a Zeta because we're "small" and "desperately" looking to take as many members as possible. (DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE!)
6. You love Zeta/Sigma parties and you want to get in free
7. your were rejected from your first choice and Zeta was your backup
8. your favorite colors just happen to be blue and white, so your thinking its a sign from God
9. You lack the ambition to work toward the principles on which Zeta was founded
10. You lack respect for yourself as well as others (including other Greeks)
Ten Reasons you SHOULD join Zeta
1. we are God fearing women and we know that all is possible through Christ
2. we are strong, educated woment who are excelling through all walks of life (research it girl)
3. we truly exemplify the meaning of sisterhood
4. we perpetuate the ideals of service, scholarship, finerwomanhood amd sisterly love on a daily basis
5. you believe in all of your heart that you are dedicated to our principles
6. you are concerned with the idea of quality instead of quantity
7. you consider yourself to be a lady of GOOD stature
8. you know that you have the potential to do great works for the organization
9. you believe in doing community service--not because you have to , but because you want to
10 you are willing to dedicate your life, not just your undergraduate years to the cause (Real Talk, I have a meeting in the morning)
THESE VIEWS ARE INDEPENDENT OF ZETA PHI BETA SORORITY INCORPORATED
If you find that any reason under "why you should not..." falls under your list of reasons for wanting to be a Zeta, PLEASE do us a favor and save your time as well as ours.

You should join the sorority that you feel most comfortable with, not what everyone else wants you to feel comfortable with. The decision should ultimatly be yours, the sorority that you connect with may be different from the ones your friends or others connect with. Look closely and choose wisely.

Well I guess you could if they are not apart of the NPC or NPHC. I guess the question I and the NPHC groups members would have is if they do the same thing, why would you need to join two? Again, there is definitely no written rule for the NPHC about the non NPHC groups. However, I have heard of non NPHC's having restrictions once you are a member.

First of all, you definitely should NOT join my Sorority because you don't even know the name. Also, if you aren't a strong enough woman to know what you want, regardless of what other people say , then maybe you shouldn't join any of the NPHC sororities.

CHECK ALL THE SORORITIES AND FIND ONE THAT HAS THE STANDARDS AND VALUES YOU ADMIRE, PICK AT LEAST TWO. THEN WATCH THE LADIES IN IT AND SEE IF THEY APPEAR TO HAVE THOSE SAME VALUES. FIRST ASK YOURSELF WHY DO YOU WANT TO JOIN? IT SHOULDN'T BE B/C OF FITTING IN OR WANTING TO BELONG TO SOMETHING. PERSONALLY, IF THIS IS SOMETHING YOU REALLY WANT TO TO, I THINK YOU SHOULD SPEND COLLEGE FOCUSING ON STUDYING AND PREPARING FOR LIFE AND MAYBE PLEDGE GRADUATE SCHOOL CHAPTER. THE WOMEN ARE MORE MATURE AND YOU GET TO SEE THE REAL PURPOSE FOR THE SORORITY.
