when blinded at night by headlights, look down at the right side of the road until it passes, preferably at the white line if there is one...
when crossing a railroad track, stop anyway & look both ways, always have both hands on the wheel when crossing the tracks as well.

Someone actually ran into the back of me yesterday while I was making a right turn to go home. They were being distracted by something they were doing. But they did not stop or anything they just kept driving like nothing even happened!!! People in Texas do not know how to drive!!! But I do. But oh yeah a tip would be to ignore things that would normally distract you, such as talking on the cell phone.

Know where the other cars on the road are. Look for breaklights at least six cars ahead. Mind your following distance. My general rule is about three seconds, I increase this the faster I go. Don't be too polite, always be predictable when driving. Do what the other drivers think you are going to do. Yeah, I have tons more, but I'm not writing a book here...

1. Q: What to do when your car won't stop accelerating:
A: Push (floor) gas petal to the floor all the way while breaking.

I was at a stop light, and when the light turned green, my car revved (on its own) - and started accelerating without me ... it was late at night, and I quickly approached a red light fastly. Thank GOD my best friend grew up with her daddy (race car builder and driver) ... and she told me to floor the gas petal to re-set the car's computer system.

2. Q: How to handle sharp turns:
A: Break before you come to the turn .. then accelorate as you turn ... (Keith Codes)

3. Q: What to do if your caugh in your trunk:
A: Newer cars have a childproof handle to pull. If this is missing you can fidget around the trunk door and find a wire that will cause the trunk to open.

1 car length per 10 miles an hour when behind someone. Do not, I repeat do not count on the 2 second rule I don't even know why they teach it. Depth is a better judge! Also, no matter what, always take the second look before you complete your action.,

Pay attention to the road and the other cars on the road. You can never be sure what another driver is going to do.

I still take a quick glance both ways when going through an intersection...I've seen too many people run red lights to assume green means safe to go through.

Tip 1. Always use your TURN SIGNALS. They are there for a reason.

Tip 2. Stop talking on your cell phone when you are driving.

Sure. Assume that other driver is a moron, and assume the worst case scenario also. That logic actually works simply because not all drivers have common sense when driving. By doing that I have prevented myself from being in many accidents. ; )

Send up a prayer before you get on the freeways of Houston, Texas !!! Oil tycoons' Benz and Bubba's pick ups don''t always mesh. Throw in the soccer moms in their SUVs with little Muffy and Buffy bouncing around in the back, and it's the making of mass chaos.

Learn to use turn signals. Nobody's a mind reader. Also put the phone down until vehicle is parked.
