Everytime I hear a love song from a male singer, it's a contribution or dedication to their girlfriends, wives etc. But when I listen to a female's SORT OF love song, I hear sexist lyrics about the girls cheating on their boyfriends, not wanting to spend time with them, and saying NO to marriages. What kind of crap is that?

Its our society's double standard. When ever men sing about that stuff or show scantly clad women in their videos, they are being sexists pigs or perverted. When ever we (women) do it it's called "Female Empowerment". It seems women can get away with more these days because no one wants to be seen as crushing our rights. Another good example is women only clubs, they are springing all over while they are demolishing mens only groups. I know it's wrong but it seems to the the way our dumb hypocritical society works.

A lot of what inspires women is cheating spouses/boyfriends etc. as well as hard times and just crappy stuff in general that happens to them. As for me, I am a songwriter, and a damn good one at that, and I don't write about stuff like that. I think it is also a matter of what the female public wants to hear. (NOTE: female public is discluding ME. I would much rather put on some Fall Out Boy and go play in traffic. =D)

That's not how it always is, but yes there are a large number of examples. What I see is a world that will soon be turned outside down from what has transpired over the past 300 years. 300 years ago women were treated with scorn and it seems that women are slowly gaining control and those crimes will come full circle

Because the only way to get into music as a woman is have the right look and sing female-empowering songs.

It sells. And a lot of women musicians are afraid of getting labeled as only writing love ballads.

Seriously though not all female musicians do that, Joan Jett, Meredith Brooks, etc.

Women like to bash men! They dress all skimpy and stuff to take you attention off of the lyrics so they can bash you! Obviously you do not find any of them sexy enough to watch! We all have our downfalls! The way I see it, let 'em bash us! As long as they keep looking so damn hot!

not all songs are like that if you only hear songs like that you dont get out much some are about how men treated them wrong and how they had to get them back

Because they know they have control. They know that when it comes to sex, they wear the pants (or not...HAH) when it comes to the big decision. Guys want it all the time, but if a girl doesn't, what are you gonna do?

Are you sure your take on this isn't being colored by how women have treated you, or how you perceive them to have done? You sound extremely jaded and biased.
