I am now 28 week almost 29 and my belly has basically been the same size for about 6 weeks now. Im not very big anyway, but my mom keeps telling me I will get bigger in my 8th and 9th months...is that true or will I stay this size till the baby is born?

It was that fifth/sixth month I'd gain the most. If you aren't big now chances are you won't get huge. You may gain a bit more in your last month, but that's normal. And, it more than likely will just be the baby growing not you.

It was great with my son because after he was born I lost 25 pounds right away! He was almost 10 lbs and with the after birth I wasn't too shabby. Still had 30 lbs to loose but it was easy while breast feeding.

Count yourself lucky. Most aren't!! But, be forwarned. Mother nature has a way of paying it back. If you get blessed in one area mother nature makes you pay in another ;-P I was cursed those nasty skin tags. EVERYWHERE. It was so weird and I have the same thing again...eck.

Every woman is different. I got huge up to 7 months pregnant and haven't much gotten bigger since. I'm now 39 weeks. Your water levels peak at 35 weeks so perhaps that was my peak weight, but size wise i've been the same.

I really popped out at about 7 months. I gained weight consistently throughout....but not in my belly until the end :( To my own eye I didnt even look pregnant until about 20 weeks....no belly at all ! Your mom is right...the early months go to brain and organ developement....the baby puts on weight and length at the end.

Your mom is telling you the truth. Your baby spent the last few months developing all his/her vital organs and now all the energy will go into growing bigger.

3rd trimester. That's when the baby really starts to pack on the pounds, in the last weeks gaining as much as an ounce per day.
