Isn't 'racism' everywhere? according to the do-gooding wooden spooners...the race cards certainly played at least 453 times per day in each square mile, according to recent surveys.
I personally believe that the world would be a happier place if certain individuals stopped using the race card as an excuse to further there careers or get there own way.

North east of England is a fair sized area of the UK' and I'm not really sure what it is you are asking. I was once working on a contract and staying in a little sea side place in the North East, nt far from Hull, almost all the locals I met were very racist , I hadn't really come across this anywhere else I had worked in the UK, I have been back a few times since and nothing has changed , hard to believe but true.
I'm not trying to say that all folk in the North east are like this, I only found it in this one spot, all very strange, as I remember it there were only two coloured fellers there, one was a taxi driver the other was looking after the donkeys on the beach, both had been living there for about 20 years, they were just about tolerated!
Hull was a different matter I found them to be far more cosmopolitan, I wonder why you picked out the North East? I would say on the whole the are about the same as the rest of the UK or the world a few are racist , but the vast majority are coming around to accept the fact that we are all multi racial, those that dont accept that are like the dodo bird, they are extinct.

not just the north east of england, everywhere in the country. when you think about it, its hardly suprising because all the london bombers who blew themselves up and caused sooo many deaths and theres been others since then that have tried the same thing ... they all seem to have one thing in common ... muslim and brown faces.

Yes, definitely. My grandparents came from the Driffield area, and 2 years ago I went there for a few days to research family history. Everyone in Driffield was white, and it seemed that all they could talk about was how much they hated pakis, queers, southerners. I was really shocked, and so glad my grandparents got on that train to London all those years ago. Never understood why they hated it and never went back, but I do now. Horrible, racist, bitter people, makes me ashamed to share their DNA

Honey it's every where. Don't even get yourself upset over it. Just stay away from those who are if you're not and call it a day. Doesn't anyone think about trying to make themselves happy on a daily basis anymore?
