BO can be caused by lack of cleanliness but also by medical conditions or environment (home odors). You need to tell her one way or another but you don't need to be harsh.
Does she smell bad all the time? If not, next time she doesn't smell compliment her on how good she smells. If she just bathed maybe that will encourage her to bath more.
Otherwise, lay the blame on food or smoke or something and just ask "what did you do today," or "did you eat something wierd today," cause you kinda stink" and elbow her teasingly. Hopefully she'll bathe and then you can compliment her tomorrow.
Lather, rinse, repeat.

You TELL her.. what kindda friend lets a friend go thru life stinking when they coulda said something? They may not notice it (not everyone has the same sense of smell.. some dont have any at all) but other likely can.. so just mention it.. sheesh.. or do you want her to go through life as Smelliny Melonie?
One of the crappy duties of being a friend.. and there are alott em lemme tell ya..

Very delicately. You don't want to offend her of course, but want to let her know that she has BO. If she is a real close friend, then just tell her, maybe like this, blame it on her shirt? Say something like you know, what is that smell? Do you smell it ? Then politely sniff around in the air and kinda go towards her shirt, and say you know what I think it's your shirt? Then play it off like man what did you do forget to wash it? Maybe this will give her a hint. At least she might be more conscious about smells. Good luck!

Its rough cause you dont wanna hurt her feelings, but just tell her that you care about her and you dont want people to talk about her, and that she needs to practice better personal hygeine. If its her deodorant that isnt working, tell her she needs to try another brand. If she simply isnt bathing then tell her the above.
You are a better friend for trying to help her than what you would be if you ignored it.
Good luck to you.

Say "Girlfriend, You know I love you, and out of love and respect, I need to tell you, You stink." But say it in your nicest way that is most effective to her with out hurting her feeling. Even though she's a good friend you could still hurt her feelings if you don't do it in the way that's right for her.

If she is a good friend of yours just tell her. I would rather my b.f. tell me that i have a b.o. then some other person that i don't know.

I think if you told her she would be really embarrased and might feel akward around you in the future. Why don't you try giving her a small gift that includes body wash, lotion and body spray, all scented of course.
Good luck!

Quickly and over the phone. You HAVE TO tell her though. Would you want to be unconciously raoming around stinking. No subliminal messages either ......straight to the point

you know honest can always hurt people even if you been friends for 1 year to 100 years... I am always honest with my friends and I always tell them and they thank for me to let them know and reason because I care... not because it make me look bad. no... just being a true friend.
