Yes Kobe is the best player in the NBA, period. Those MVP won by Nash were more popularity contest than anything else. Yes, Nash does help a team a great deal, his vision and speed of the game is outstanding. But lets be real. If you're down by two, and need a basket, who do you give the ball too. Or better yet, you're up two, and you need a stop, who do you have guarding the other teams best player. Dont just look at accomplishments such as rings and MVP's to determine a players ability. Bryant should've won that MVP award with that scoring burst against Toronto, but like I said, he isn't popular these days. As far as deferring to talent, people seem to forget that he had to defer throughout his whole career. Those three championships the lakers won, were largely because of him. He was the best player on the lakers for years, but deferred to Shaq. No other superstar had to do that, not Tim, Lebron, KG, and Nash isn't a superstar, so I won't include him. At any rate, when asked to do what ever is needed on the court, whether its be a passer, which Kobe can do, score, defend, free throws, rebound, whatever, I think Kobe is the best, and has been for years.

i think of you additionally could make an particularly good argument that Kobe develop into the final in the process the final 5 seasons. i be attentive to he's not the flashiest or maximum interesting participant, however the only different guy or woman i might placed into attention is Tim Duncan. inspite of the certainty that he does not have the numbers that bryant has, very few human beings have gained greater beneficial than he has in the process the final 5 years. The stats are there. Duncan has continuously had a minimum of 20 a sport and 11 boards and in his greater effectual seasons he's had much greater factors and boards. He won't drop 80 in one sport, yet how are you able to argue against his championships and his Finals mvps. Duncan additionally has a much greater effectual physique of innovations than Kobe. He gets along with his teamates and is keen to do something it takes to win.

I would have to say Tim Duncan. In the last five years, Duncan has won more titles (two in 2003 and 2005, compared to Bryant's win in 2002), been an all-around better defender, defers to talented teammates (Tony Parker, Manu Ginoboli, Brent Barry, Bruce Bowen, David Robinson before he retired, as compared to a declining Shaquille O'Neal, a declining Karl Malone, a declining Gary Payton, a declining Ron Harper, an underachiever in Kwame Brown, a solid contributer in Lamar Odom, and role players such as Smush Parker, Brian Cook, Derek Fisher, Devean George, and Luke Walton). Bryant is still selfish. If the Lakers age going to go to the Promised Land again, Bryant needs to trust his teammates more often. The Spurs have in fact been a better team the last five years than the Lakers, but not by much. The Spurs' system is much more cohiesive than the Lakers' system. If the Spurs were to lose Duncan for a significant amount of time, the team would suffer, but they would move on. If the Lakers lost Bryant for a significant amount of time, they would be screwed.

amen on Steve Nash!! Steve is the consumnate team player who can score when he wants to but also leads in assists, which helps get the rest of the team involved. Kobe plays for Kobe. While Kobe certainly is a great player, perhaps one of the top three scorers, I would still take Nash over him on my team any day. I think that LeBron is also on a par with Kobe as far as talent goes and has none of the Kobe baggage... I think that Kobe also set a lousy example in Colorado for kids, regardless of whether his tryst with the gal there was consensual or not. Any normal person would still be locked up

all of you's is wrong about Kobe, and Im not saying this cause Im a big Kobe fan, no matter how crappy you think his attitude is you have to admit he has game! true enough he has a selfish past, but look a the beauty of his game he's showing you how unselfish he can be and still get 40 or 30 a game. Nash is a great (point guard!!!) kobe's not a point guard you cant compare them, Tim duncan is a great Foward, kobe's not a forward you can't compare them. Know WADE, LABRON, there good players can score and score well but quite doesn't have the all around game like kobe.
HUH!!!

LeBron James hands down is the best the NBA has seen since MJ. Even though this is LeBron's 4th season he is still without a doubt the best player to walk onto the court since Jordan; regardless of championships, Ws - Ls, and stats. He is a 21 year old phenom and at the pace he is going he will destroy Kobe's records.

I think the Suns because they have Nash. The Lakers team is just going down. I don`t know why. Kobe deserves to play on a different team.

Kobe's good but he is an A55 hole. He smacked Manu Genobli in the face when the Lakers played their last game with the Spurs. He also got off easy with a one game suspension.
No body has respect for him when he pulls that attitude crap that he does all the time.
I join with the Phoenix Suns Fans in their Chant...Kobe Sucks
Kobe Sucks.....Kobe Sucks!

Lebron James. He's more of a team player and definitely not as selfish as Kobe. He's got the stats and abilities. He's got better teammates because the Lakers can't afford anybody with Kobe's contract leaning on them. Before the end of his career Lebron will get a ring and be Finals MVP.

Steve Nash has won 2 mvp awards in the last 5 years and he is on pace for another. So Steve Nash has been better than Bryant in the last 5 years.
