how about steve nash....its an easy answer since he beat out kobe for mvp the past two years and most likely will do it again this year unless he (nash) doesnt recover from a shoulder injury

I think you can make a very solid argument that Kobe was the best over the past 5 seasons. I know he isn't the flashiest or most exciting player, but the only other person I would put into consideration is Tim Duncan. Although he doesn't have the numbers that bryant has, very few people have won more than he has over the past 5 years. The stats are there. Duncan has always had at least 20 a game and 11 boards and in his better seasons he's had even more points and boards. He won't drop 80 in a single game, but how can you argue against his championships and his Finals mvps. Duncan also has a much better attitude than Kobe. He gets along with his teamates and is willing to do anything it takes to win.

particular, Kobe carried a team of gamers that arent even interior the NBA anymore to the playoffs and intensely almost disillusioned the 2nd seed Suns.. the reason the Lakers are sucking is the coach and injuries. D'Antoni's offense is consistent with 3 innovations and speed, Lakers have undesirable shooters and are very previous, he does not pontificate any protection the two.. If the Lakers lost via 10 and the score is 124-114, D'Antoni might say we desire greater effectual offense. The Lakers are an particularly precise heavy team, while their stars flow down, they're going to lose..

No one is even close to Bryant over the past 5 years...Jordan had talented role players around him like Pippen and Rodman. Who does Kobe have? Luke Walton and Andrew Bynum??? And the competition level the Bulls faced in the mid-90s was nothing like it is today. The Lakers have to get through the West past teams like Phoenix, Dallas and San Antonio. The eastern conference was never this deep back in MJ's day. (Still, there will never be another Michael Jordan)

It was Steve Nash... for the last 5 years he is on a rise... helping the Mavs bto be a perrenial playoff team... then now the Suns... he just made everyone around him better and he bulit this guys confidence... Nowitzki was just a strakshooter before Nash built him up... Amare was another story... He changed the way people see basketball beyond this High School dunkin kids and this score hungry selfish guards and oh so boring big man... and he was rewarded with MVP's and to think that his age his work ethic is excellent. I once read that after the plyaoffs and they lost he went to Rucker park and played streetball to add dimension and polish his game.

YES!
You cant really count the lakers in wins cos the first year after shaq left they kinda sucked. but they've gotten better each season. i will admit that he is a talented player and just got better teammates this season, Steve Nash is still better, Tim Duncan, Chauncey billups. even with T-macs injury , he's still better. to me his attitude sucks. he's sharing the ball better this year but a little too late you think? Nowitzki has been improving, you cant count garnett out so yes there have been a lot of players better than Kobe over the last 5 seasons.

I think you have it right with Kobe. Forget the stats, I always think about it this way.... Assume you were a captain in a pick up game and had the first pick. If you didn't pick Kobe, the over competitive killer instinct that he has would quickly show your your mistake. He wants the ball and knows what to do with it. If the goal was to win one game, I would take Kobe first every time.

Are you kidding? Kobe is the biggest ballhog the game has ever seen. So many players are better then him like wade tmac shaq arenas...they all score but they make the people around them better at the same time. Especially tmac, look what hes doing to the Rockets without Yao. They have the potential to go all the way when Yao gets back.

Steve Nash is the best all around player in the NBA. You can't compare Kobe to Jordan anymore. Since Shaq left the Lakers, they have gone NOWHERE! Jordan LEAD his team to becoming world champions MANY times, Kobe has helped his team, but never LED them to becoming champions

Yes. Thats an utterly ridiculous question. Kobe wasn't as good as Shaq in their championship season, and hasn't won a championship since.
By the way, Tim Duncan is nowhere near the best player in the league, he is scum of the earth.
