I don't know, but that isn't good. You should see a doctor about this problem.

Are you sure it's a yeast infection? Have you been diagnosed?

Also, do you douche after your period? Because doing so can lead to yeast or bacterial infections as it throws your vaginal chemistry off.
Has this been going on since your first period or just the past couple of cycles? If it's the latter, it's possible that you may have an infection that over-the-counter products like Monistat can't take care of. You would then need an Rx for a stronger medicine.
There's this new product that's supposed to be good to maintain vaginal chemistry and balances. It's called RePhresh, and you can find it in the feminine hygiene section at the store--where you'd find Massengil and Summer's eve, not the section where you'd get the yeast infection meds.

You probably have a chronic yeast infection and that is when you notice it, because it is more moist in that area during that time and this contributes to yeast growth- and the situation becomes a lot more obvious. This gets worse when you are using tampons especially. Know what I mean? You need to get treated by a doctor. Make sure you mention that this is ongoing. Also, you may need to monitor your diet and stay away from sugars and sweets, and food that is processed and contains white flours and breads (because they are loaded with sugar and yeast). People prone to chronic yeast infections are likely to have high blood sugar. You may also need to have that tested. Best of luck.

No, not every girl that gets her period has had a yeast infection. Yeast infections itch and sometimes burn. Thick white sticky distarge. To help avoid female infections do not use bubble baths! If you get the internal itch use one of the over the counter medications from Walgreens or another drug store.

After your period everything has been flushed out of your uterus including the good bacteria which keeps you from getting yeast infection. best way i've heard of (and cheapest) is eat plenty of yogurt during and a few days after your period. Yogurt also helps prevent yeast infections if you are taking antibiotics.

If you get a yeast infection every time you get your period, it could already have done fungus. You need to seek professional advise. Have a GYN examine you.

Sometimes if you eat alot of sweets, that can be one cause. Your immune system might not be able to fight the virus.

see your doctor. but if you aren't changing your pad or tampon often enough or wearing panties that are to tight this may cause the infection. It is not necessary to douche after your period because the vagina is a self cleaning organ. By douching you interupt your natural acidity which destroys bacteria.

Could be several things - your undergarments are too small/too tight, you might need to cleanse yourself a little more thoroughly - your body might produce more bacteria than normal during that time. My suggestion would be to see a doctor - or at least call a consultaing nurse telephone line. Good luck and I hope this gets better for you!
