It bothers me that American citizens can be arrested for terrorism for simply advertising without a license. What is this country coming to? Why can't the police admit they over reacted and just fine the guys?

Ten years ago, someone could look at something like this and think nothing of it, but in the day and age that we now live in these "toys" could very easily be mistaken for explosive devices to the naked eye.

Why were some of these things placed on girders that support bridges and major highways?

The parent company and the PR firm as well as the bozos who planted these "toys" should be severely punished- and to call these two boys bozos is a serious understatement after watching a press conference this morning.

It's a prime example of overreaction. Several other displays in other cities were setup and no one hardly flinched. It's pretty obvious that the devices weren't bombs or even hoax bombs.
As far as the placement, places like overpass supports are perfect for advertising for a really simple reason.
1. You never see advertising there, so their displays would pop out when you notice it. It's politely subliminal, but will make you either go, "what was that" or "hey look, it's the aquateen character"
Sad, simply sad.

While a terror hoax may not have been their original goal, emails sent out requesting to not commutate with the police reveal an attempt to gain publicity from the chaos.
Had the motivation been to demonstrate how paranoid our society has become, I might have come down on their side. But it wasn’t. It was a marketing campaign. Its motivation was profit. The method of delivery was a terror hoax.

I think they should do time as well. Fake bombs are never really funny, especially after 9/11. Even though they knew the devices were fake, those who responded didn't, not to mention all the money the city wasted responding to this call. Just think how many people could have (or did) die because police and fire resources were tied up with this mess.

If these devices were designed to look like bombs they should be charged, but if they were supposed to look like light bright moon men (which is what they looked like to me) there is no way they should be prosecuted. What if someone ate lunch at the park and someone thought the empty brown bag was a bomb, should they be arrested for placing a hoax device. At what point do police just say they were wrong.

the reaction was a little over the top.those little sings dont even look like bombs! it was the places they were put .i mean really who is gonna make a bomb with lights formed into a little digital body with hands and feet that you can see at night .the idea behind making a bomb is that you DONT notice it so it that it goes off and nobody bothers it.thats why they terrorists try to make bombs with gatorade bottles and toothpaste tubes and shoes.......
are you seeing a pattern here?
those things blend in and dont stick out.
what scared everybody is the locations of the little signs
they were placed at the bases of bridges over water
and some very important building
i think thats what everybody is freaking out about.

Doesnt it concern you that the Boston police dont know a simple childs toy (a lite brite) from a bomb? I am more concerned with that fact.
Also, even if they go to jail, it will not cause cartoon network to go away. They dont own it!
Read the articles, watch the news. LEARN.

this is the lamest thing i've ever heard of....lite brites?
these guys have done nothing wrong. fine & blame guerrilla style-marketers of the network, but these "dudes" are clearly were not cooking up a plot to scare folks. they are scapegoats for bostons idiotic gov't response and our general populations fear of lite brites! simply IGNORANT. or a really sucessful publicity stunt for a stupid cartoon

that is completely rediculous. have you seen the picture of the "device"? it's a freakin light brite, for gods sake! funny how these things were in like 10 different cities, and nobody cared except for boston. they need to get their panties out of a wad.
