I've noticed my eyes weren't at their peak so a year ago I went to the optometrist who said one of my eyes was a bit nearsighted but not needing corrective lenses.

I can still see fairly well, but not as sharply long distance wise...so how can I prevent my eyes from getting worse & needing glasses or contacts?

there are no exercises or vitamins that can make your eyes better or prevent them from getting worse. It is partly hereditary

If you want a HAPPY answer then you can do many things.
If you want an HONEST answer: We can NOT guide your eyes towards correcting the required power or to prevent it further. As per Allopathic system of medicine, Diet, Exercise or Medicine do not influence present or future power. Please do not live in wshful thinking and do take action now. Go in for an optical correction (spectacles or contact lenses) or undergo a corrective surgery like LASIK.

As the mechanism for near sighted ness is a gradual increase in the length of your orbit, I have serious doubts about eye exercises helping much or in any substantial way. You should maybe look into Orthokeratology - or overnight wear therapy. If you prescription is under -4.00, this may be your best option if surgery isnt.......

Only lasix surgery can do that.

But be very, very sure you want it as you could lose some of your up-close vision and need reading glasses!
