Do you think that you will ever forgive them? Why not? Has too much time gone by?

Is what they did worth it? I mean does the punishment fit the crime...are they changed utterly in your eyes?

It's the other way around - how long will someone hold a grudge against you -
I hurt my very best friend on Earth in a way I am too ashamed to mention here back in 1998.
I see her every-other-day [we belong in the exact same organizations and social circles], and she still hates me with a vengeance.
I would cut off my right arm and pay a gazillion dollars to restore our friendship, but there is nothing I can do at all.
I hated myself for years and years, even to suicidal edges over this, but I have come to realize that Jesus still loves me even if she does not, and that Jesus forgives me even if she does not.
It is still hard, but knowing how much Jesus cares makes it a lot easier than before. . . .

Tough situation, but someone who did a wrong towards me is holding onto a grudge- figure that one out. I would normally not hold onto a grudge because it doesn't seem worth it. In fact it seems foolish to waste all that time being angry. I forgave that person, but will avoid him at all costs because of the way he's acting. I'm not sure if that's considered a grudge though.

I usually try not to hold grudges because it actually takes more energy out of people than just accepting things and being happy. Right now, I haven't spoken to my mom in about a month. I'm not sure if I'll ever forgive her for her actions completely. I would imagine that eventually we'll talk again, but for now, I don't even want to consider it.

"Working With Anger" by: Thubten Chodron.

She has two master's degrees, one in Psychol-

ogy, and one in Sociology.

The book teaches, not only how to work with
anger, but also unforgiveness, impatience, jealously, envy, and many other factors which are unhealthy for us. She, the Author, teaches how to Cultivate all the Wholesome factors in our life which bring us the most peace of mind, and Happiness. Take Care.

Well i was bullied pretty bad at school, beaten up and that... so i don't like the people who did that to me... its four years on now and its still pain full when i remember what they did. But i am a religious person so i feel that they have to live with what they did to me, so that is punishment enough. so even though it is painful i try not to hold onto my grudges... its tough, but i find with me, if i stay lurking on the past then i have no chance to look forward.... (soppy i know....) JoJo x

I have held a grudge for 24 years and its not going anywhere, but you can still have a relationship or friendship with someone when your holding a grudge, just dont let it mess with your better judgement!

I held a grudge for 5 years until I realized I was better off without him and if he's happy then so be it. I forgave him, and I still have a place in my heart for him...he was my first everything.
