Has your holiday already been set up? If it has, they have to have someone take your place for that month anyways, so while your holiday replacement is working, they can find a permanent replacement. I had to do that once. I had to put in a two weeks notice, and had already had a weeks holiday set up, so I gave my two weeks notice and worked for one week, then the next week was my holiday. People do it all the time. As long as they already have a replacement for the month, you are fine.

"need to give a month notice" - Define month. is it 30 calendar days or a month worth of business days. I doubt it is the later. If so, you may do that over a month of holidays. however, depending on where you work and how loyal you are to the current business, only you can decide if it is fair or not. You have to think about whats fair to you also

then I say no, that is the same as quiting today.
The reason that they want notice is that you can tansfer knowledge or train the next person. Can't do that from the beach

Meaning, you want to give your notice and then go on vacation for a month? I wouldn't do that. They might try to screw you out of any holiday pay. I'd personally use up any vacation time I had, THEN give notice.
