Apples and Oranges. Even with emulation software, a MAC is still a MAC and NOT a Windows PC.

MAC has its advantages in the world of Art. Graphic designers use it almost exclusely.

But sharing data, documents in the business world means PC (IBM). With the PC, you get people that are trained on standardized tools. You reach 90 percent of the computer literacy and funtionality.

From a security point of view, the MAC wins. Many people that use MACs on-line simply don't have anti-virus programs. MAC users don't even know what SpyWare is.

So it all depends on what you intend to do with it.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

Mac's run less software. Less people use Mac's. Mac's cost twice as much as a pc. Mac's dont have viruses because not enough people use them so the virus writer doesn't want to waste his time on mac's. In the past mac's were better graphically, but not today. Pc's are made by a whole host of companies thus keeping the price low for the consumer. Only Apple Corps can make a mac thus keeping the price inflated.

Less & less everyday (now that Mac is using intell processors) Mac can run either OS (so can a PC with an emulator There are bootleg emulators out there for MAC to Win.. but no one really bothers with them as there isnt anypoint to it really).. but why bother?) Win is basically a PC priopratory OS.. Mac(osX and above) is based mostly on Unix/linux.

One major thing is that there is way more software/hardware for windows based comps.. as well thats what the vast majority of the world uses, and thats what the vast majority of programmers write for..

Another major difference between Mac & PC is you could get a REALLY REALLY good PC for what you pay for a low end Mac
(example.. My former GF's Mac notebook cost her around $1600.. My faster better PC notebook cost me about $850.. and I say faster because we ran some of the same programmes (mac and PC versions of course) and by the time she was done loading i was usually done with the task at hand in many instances.. I say better.. because I had more software available in all areas.. even moreso in the shareware freeware area.. i could do everything she could on her mac.. she couldnt do everything i did on my PC...

Another Pain in the ***.. it was much harder to fix her mac when something went wrong than it was for me to fix my PC... and I always got stuck with fixing it (she couldnt 80% of the time) I do attribute part of that to I'm much more familiar with windows though.. but I've used both systems here and there for a very long time...

Lastly.. i dont see any practical advantage to Running Mac over a PC.. Particularly since they went to intel chips and make a point of being able to run Windows now.. Whats the point? If you want to run windows get a PC... benchmarks have proven that PC's run windows faster anyway.. and really funny is Macs run Windows & win programmes faster than they do thier own OS versions too ( Maximum PC magazine tests)

A "Mac" is a computer sold by Apple that runs the operating system known as "OSX". A "Windows" computer is a computer manufactured by one of hundreds of companies that runs "Microsoft Windows XP/Vista." operating system. The difference lies in the manufacturing. It is important to note that Microsoft Windows operating system can be run on Apple Computers (with Intel and a program known as Boot Camp). Where as Mac OSX can only be run on computers manufactured by Apple.

If you want the most for your money get Windows. If you want people to think you're incompetent get a Mac.
