Does anyone know why Fibonacci was just as important today as he was 100 years ago??

The Fibonacci numbers/ratio we have found is the mark of beauty such that most plastic surgeons, when reconstructing a face, will be sure that the distance between eyes, nose, mouth, lips, etc. conform to the Fibonacci ration.
Painters of old would use the ratio.
