It can be overrated if you're just working because you have to. On the other hand if you feel you are helping people and doing your part in life, then it can be satisfying. I think it's mostly a matter of finding the work that you're suited for.

It depends on what you want out of life. If you find yourself responsible for a couple of children you don't have a choice if you want them to have a nice childhood. Do you want to live in a safe neighborhood? Where clothes that you buy brand new not from the Goodwill or Salvation Army? Go to the grocery store and buy food? Go to a movie or play? As far as enjoying work, if it was suppose to be fun it would be called fun, not work. I get up 5 days a week and go to work, I pay my bills. I do not enjoy my job. I will help my kids get a college education so maybe they won't have to work, maybe they can get a career, maybe....

For some who do not WANT to work, but get paid - yes!! For those who LOVE their job and WORK for their money - no. Life is about work.....work is about life!! It builds character and your checking account. What more do you need?
