It is never to late. I changed my major so many times and quit school for a while to work full time then went back. I graduated when I was 30 and I am a teacher now.

It's never too late to go back to college. My uncle went back when he was in his 50's and got a degree in Philosophy. Sure, he can't do squat with it, but it's what he wanted to do. You're 26. You've got a lot of life left ahead of you. Do with it what you wish. And Good luck.

Go for it! It is never too late to go to school. My neighbor graduated at age 68. She stopped to raise a family, then her husband died, and she decided to finish. A teacher is such a good profession to join. It is a thankless profession but the most important. You never know how you could touch someone's life. My daughter is an early childhood education major and sent me this to view. http://www.theteachermovie.com They watched it in one of her education classes.

Of course it's never too late. In addition to the other comments, I would check with your state's requirements to see what courses are required for teacher certification.

People your age represent todays majority of college enrollment nationwide, not the 18-22 crowd. Don't sweat it.
