Not as long as the government keeps us segregated as African-American, Asian-American, or Latin-American. We need to be Americans. But as long as we allow our government to keep us divided into manageable bits for them to control we will never be united. The second thing we as a people need to do is to stop taking advantage of something we perceive as a weakness in another. When we stop taking advantage of each other we might figure out that we can get more done by working together. Don't worry about God not being in schools. As long as there are tests there will be kids praying for help and guidance.

Putting God back into the schools won't help. Look what happened when the bible was taught nonstop. People were burned at the stake for being witches. Then there was the era of back alley abortions. Nahh, lets just teach the three Rs.
My husband opened the door to a man saying he needed to borrow a gas can last week. Well, dear ol hubby gave him a ride to get gas (paid for the gas) and took him back to his car to put it in. Guess what, he didnt know where the tank was. Turned out the car was stolen.

I personally do stop to help someone broke down on the road. most of the time they just need gas or a cell phone to call someone...to help someone doesnt mean you have to allow them into your home or car to help them...
the God that you speak of, is never far away. Those who believe in God will always have him with them. Be it in school or safe at home.
Some fear is not a bad thing. It keeps you aware of what is going on around you. You shouldnt be scared all the time. But if you want to help you can do it through a door. or a window. you can make the phone call for them. I can understand what you are saying, though, i have been robbed at work...I can no longer do that job. I am afraid it will happen again. I have got another job.
I stopped to help an older man one night, it was around 11pm. very dark back road. I pulled up and he pulled a gun. He thought I was going to hurt him. No one got hurt. He had already called tripple A. I went on my way.
So you see, you can help, you just need to figure out a way to do it with out someone getting hurt.
take care....

Things are only scary because the media presents it that way. I am white and I got a flat tire in a very bad part of Philly and some guys came up to me looking like rappers but they helped me fix it for free and asked for nothing in return. When I got home that night I watched the news and all they were reporting on was murders and rapists, never on the story's like those guys. But the problem is, if the news started reporting on that, people would probably just turn the channel to find out what color purse paris hilton is wearing that day. Our society is pathetic and our media is responsible.

God can't be taken out of schools, or out of anywhere. He goes with people, wherever they go, as do whatever other gods people have. So all this crap about taking him out of schools is just bullshit. Why should we be praying in school anyway? It's a state agency. Do you want the state mandating religion? Don't you know anything about why our forefathers came here?
I think the only day in which we might be unafraid to answer our doors to strangers would be a day in which the government keeps track of everyone's thoughts and movements, and that would be f-ing horrific. Other than that, of course we'll be afraid of others. That's just the way it goes. People are to be feared, even our neighbors.

I understand what you are saying, as the world is becoming more "scarier". But i think that this is mainly to do with the media, someones always being killed or raped etc... But if you, say, never heard about any of this, then im pretty sure that you would be more calmer to help a complete stranger.
Putting god back in schools may encourage people to be more "christian" and to help thy neibour, and may bring down local crime, for example muggings, as the church can help people like that. But on the other hand, we recieve alot of terrorist threats due to the fact of our religion. So i guess it depends what you think is scarier, and which is more likely to affect you. I hope this helps

Think of it this way. To put God back in schools does not change ones morality but can help in creating like minded communities and help build a structure and code of conduct. A universal way of being. That being said, Lets not forget that God has created us to be exactly as we should be. After that is entirely up to an individual to decide to embrace or not embrace this gift.

Your thinking that teaching god in school again is a good idea but the problem is how to do that ...I mean that we should focus on teaching behaviour , talking about life preferencies ,and focusing on the idea that man is not created to live for himself (specially in the early grades of school) and that one finds real happeniss in helping the others .
When Ghandy was trying to build his country again after colonism he payed a great attention for education and inside that he payed also a great attention to religion (students should perform the religious cermonies during the school day ) .
you know I realized that eastern peoples don't have a big problem with that ...it's a part of their culture and traditions .

The majority of reason people hate and fight is because of religion, so I think putting God in school is a horrible idea. There is no way that we would be able to let our guard down, unless everyone in the world decided to just be decent and let everyone else live their own life.

No! Things would not be less scary because God has been put back into schools.
It really has to do with what we see on TV and other such media. Also, it is because parents let their children bring themselves up. That is not really the parents fault because it take two parents working to provide a family with the necessary things in life.
