You are blowing the rewriting of history out of the water for some. Slaves were used by all races at one time or another and yes the Spanish and Portuguese also the American Indian tribes used slave including the Tribes in the southern parts of North America.
Your point is valid hopefully some will wake up and realize it.

are u asking "why is the white man blamed for slavery?" because this is what i think. Yes, it was the africans that betrayed fellow africans and sold them to the different travelers. But there where some caucasian men who physically captured slaves. Also, yes they were transported many other than places as well as america. And yes, it is true that slavery was going on for YEARS before America had even been formed as a country. I personally don't "blame" the white man for slavery. It was white southern americans that fought and died to both protect and abolish slavery. So i believe that you can't blame a WHOLE race for the mistakes of a few. One this i do think is that America still has many racial issues, from both sides, to work through. Until we get past all the hurt and the wounds that were mostly caused by Segragation and some by slavery, only then can we start to heal.

They are not. Unfortunately white guy bashing seems to have become an international hobby over the past couple of decades. Worse still, many have totally bought into the whole "white guys are the root of all evil" thing without even bothering to learn about history.
As for the slave issue, not only were they transported to places other than America, most of them were prisoners of war who were enslaved by other rival warring tribes. In short, for the most part it was other Africans that sold their brothers into slavery. The white plantation owners simply had a job for them.

Throughout history people of all colors had slaves and were slaves. The entire population of the loosing country in wars were slaves to the victorious country.
Here on this side of the pond blacks from Africa were sold by their chiefs to traders who transported them to plantations. The chief got a handfull of tobacco, and the tobacco grower got another farm hand.
You're right, most of the slaves were used in the sugar farms and mills of the Caribbean. The decendents of those slaves are the quiet ones. Those in the Southern States - - - -

Actually it was the Dutch who started the slave trade to the Americas. The dutch are definitely white. Then the Dutch and others went to Africa and capitalized on the tribal wars.
They paid the victor for their prisoners and took them into slavery. Soon African tribes started raiding lesser tribes taking prisoners and selling them into slavery.
For the love of money is definitely the root of all evil.

No one ethnic group is responsible for slavery. The custom was transferred to Europeans by the Turks, Moors, and several early African kingdoms. However, Americans continued the practice later than any other predominately white country. Many areas of northern Africa and the Middle East still allow slavery in name, and other places, most notably Southeast Asia, allow de fact slavery.

There are alot of reasons out there, which still doesnt make it right, however, it was portrayed on television and still is, that white men captured and owned slaves. Think about it, when you see documentaries, movies, about slaves, its always a white man who owns the slaves. In essence this is why white men are blamed for it. I personally dont blame anyone for it, just glad that is it over, and we can all live together in this great country of OURS!!!

Yes, but then North Americans started trading slaves, and then they fueled the slave trade industries for years, but you do make a valid point, but you leave out the part where everyone abolished slavery, expect for America, and the Civil War, and the hundreds of years of Jim Crow laws, the formation of the Klu Klux klan, and the struggle for civil rights.
