We had a piece of furniture in our garage and the doors on it have bowed, does anyone know why this happens?

if it is real wood furniture, it is because it isn't built properly. it is lacking proper support and seal.

if it is NOT real wood furniture (i.e. press board) it is most likely due to humidity. the press board will absorb the moisture from the air and warp. the bowing comes from gravity.

NOT because of poor construction. As any guitarist can tell you, the humidity and temperature changes cause all woods to bend to various degrees. The more extreme the conditions the more warping occurs this causes the strings on the guitar to go out of tune as it changes their length as the neck bows.
