1. Why are there highly conserved sequences among our non-coding DNA? What mechanism would prevent non-coding DNA from mutating at a high rate?

2. What percentage of our genome is descended from lysogenic viruses that stayed?

3. Is the "Cambrian Explosion" a real phenomenon, or just an artifact of our inability to find older fossils? Was there some mechanism at that time for transferring genes for biomineralization between unrelated organisms that could account for what we observe in the fossil record for this period?
