Let me give you a piece of advice from someone who had a very unique name. Stick to things that people can pronounce and you can find in key chains! My name is Genya. I have heard everything in the book when people try to say it. When I was a child I HATED my name!!! I still have moments of annoyance but as an adult I have come to terms and dont mind it as much. BUT when I had kids I chose things that others would be able to say. I remember being a kid and hating the fact that there were no stickers or key chains or anything personalized with my name on them I was very upset about that. I also had kids in school who called me Ghengis Khan and made up things that sounded like my name and it hurt too. Just think about that when you want something unique for you children. I wouldn't even know how to pronounce that name just by reading it and that will hurt her in the future! Just my opinion! :)
To Typical Bastard> My Brother and his wife named their son Chance. I and my WHOLE family told them that was a BAD idea. He will be tortured his whole life. "no chance in hell, he has no chance, theres no chance" Kids are MEAN!! My brother and his wife both hate their names and we told them why do that to a your own child? Name a dog something like that if you like it so much!

I can understand your not wanting to give your daughter a boring popular name but I don't like Alydaeus. Not at all. And do you want people to think of Ally McBeal or alley cats when they meet her???

a unique name would be cool but, imagine urself as a kindergartner walking into a classroom 4 the 1st time then ur teacher can't pronounce ur name and 4 the rest of ur kinder garden career ur known as the girl with the funny name. think of a unique name that isn't so unique so ur daughter won't be known as the girl with the funny name

It's cute, but she's going to be in for some hassles.
People won't know how to pronounce it for one, and that can be a major pain. Plus it's long - I know she can shorten it, but anytime she needs to sign her legal name she may curse you under her breath.
One thing you should do is consider what nicknames she may get from it. Alley - Day - Us. Ok, I can't think of anything bad - the only thing that comes to mind is In Excelcis Day Oh. LOL
So I guess it wouldn't be bad!

I like it, but you're setting her up for a lifetime of mispronunciation and constantly having to correct someone.
Some people just aren't that bright.
