compound interest. It's real, it's good, it never hurt anyone without helping someone else out more.
Don't bother with religion. Most people go with what they grew up with, so it's pretty much random. The concept of faith is something invented by religious groups to get you to believe in thier ideas despite evidence to the contrary or the fact that every other religion out there is every bit as valid, as they all require you to suspend rational thinking.
