I was driving about 80 miles an hour and my truck back fired bad, then every thing went dead. It won't restart and my step dad said its the timing belt. that it skiped time or lost time or did something with time. It's a 91 chevy blazer 4.3 liter, 4wheel drive. every place I call they quote me like $500.00 is there any other thing that could be wrong that will be cheaper? or is there a cheper way of getting this timing thing fixed?

4.3 does not have a belt, it has a timing chain. Have it check out by someone that knows what they are doing.

How can everybody say it is belt or chain. You have no idea whats wrong with her car without looking at it first.

Not good!!! Spend the money and get it over with if your going to keep it. Make sure that it is done at a reputable shop or it could turn into a very bad experience. In reference to the timing chain/belt.

I would have to agree with the TIMING BELT/CHAIN. The price on the parts should be around $125.00/$175.00 & the rest is all labor.Endless you can do it or have a friend that knows what they are doing you're stuck. But $500 is really not to bad of a price. Then again do you want to sink that into a vehicle that is 15 yrs. old. There is a lot to think about here condition of vehicle, odometer reading, the general care the vehicle has recieved, etc.

each and every cellular has DNA and that's consisted of two strands tightly woven around one yet another. the ingredient that forestalls the two strands from breaking aside is stated as a telomeric cap (that's random nucleotide sequences stated as nonsense codons. Codon is a three sequence of nucleotides that codes for amino acids eg. CUU is a amino acid stated as proline . A nonsense codon is one which doesnt code for any amino acid production) every time your cells divide a small sequence is lost there by using reducing the steadiness of the cellular's DNA (in layman's words). this could at last lead do maximum of Ur cells' DNA turning out to be to be volatile. and many times whilst a mistake occurs in DNA the cellular will carry out vehicle cytolysis (cellular suicide) to circumvent problems. So once you're previous maximum of ur cells telomeric caps would be low and that they are companies to die whilst they attempt to divide.. Whats quite exciting approximately this thought is the impact it has on evolution (because of the fact this occurs on the two meiotic as nicely as mitotic divisions. meaning that a species grows previous too till now it mutates.. yet thats a diverse tale)

Unforturnately, if you poor money into a vehical that is 16 years old, you will be making a mistake. It won't be long until you have several more pricey repairs to make. I would be looking to unload if I were you. Best of luck!
