Well, it is because the next election is going to be a very important election. Also, it is 2007, so that means it is time to start campaigning. Well, I think it is a good chance that the republicans are going to take the election again. The democratic vote is split too much. This is going to make the world hate america even more if a sane person doesn't get into office. So everyone is excited about how the pendulum of history will swing.

Well the media hasn't been too inclined to talk about something that may take more than a 10 second sound bite for quite a while. It's a lot easier to stick a mike in front of someone running for office, then try to find out what's going on in Iraq, Iran, or Afghanistan; or to try to come up with ideas about how to deal with offshored jobs, a troubled educational system, millions without healthcare, or elders with disappearing pensions. The elections are a good way to distract us from what's going on around us.

This is the first election since 1928 when neither an incumbent President or Vice President are running. The field is wide open so candidates have to make themselves known earlier than an already known incumbent would have to.

Because its really not that far away, people have to campaign and it takes a while to get people to like you around the whole country. and presidency is HUGE so you have to start checking out the candidates and see who you want to govern your country. if you vote and care about your country you would understand.

Welllll, you might as well get used to it. I get tired of the bashing back and forth between both parties and the mud slinging. Each has their own faults. One is too consertative the other too liberal. I guess we have to get used to it, or just not watch the news.
