The Wall Street Journal (August 3, 1995) published an interview with Bui Tin who served on the General Staff of the North Vietnam Army and received the unconditional surrender of South Vietnam on April 30, 1975. During the interview Mr. Tin was asked if the American antiwar movement was important to Hanoi's victory. Mr. Tin responded "It was essential to our strategy" referring to the war being fought on two fronts, the Vietnam battlefield and back home in America through the antiwar movement on college campuses and in the city streets. He further stated the North Vietnamese leadership listened to the American evening news broadcasts "to follow the growth of the American antiwar movement. "America lost because of its democracy; through dissent and protest it lost the ability to mobilize a will to win." Mr. Tin further advised that General Vo Nguyen Giap (Commanding General of the North Vietnam Army) said the 1968 Tet Offensive was a defeat.
And it's happening again.

analarm: No, but she did help in the deaths of thousands of American soldiers by emboldening the enemy.
old lady: You need to turn on the news because she didn't mean a word she said when she apologized and she is doing the same thing again.

Probably because they don't have Golden Ponds only Tar Ponds.
Don't blame Jane, she was only a pawn as were the students shot at Kent State. The problem in Vietnam was that the decision makers didn't have the intestinal fortitude to bomb the supply lines i.e. communist China and USSR. The same is happening today. People forget Vietnam was a second hand war already lost by the French. Afghanistan was already lost by the Soviets. Iraq was a nation cobbled together by the Brits. it should be three nations.
Iff you are going to go in, then you have to finish it with the same force and shock you started with or else you are going to end up with a stalemate, again.
The supply lines of the enemy have to be cut. I think this is what the recent Iran activity is about, stay tuned. Jane is just the commercial to the main program.
As for your diatribe on Tin, the victor always has the rights to the story line, which is usually muchly revised.

Because even that dim wit Jihad Jane knows that the terrorist would cut her head off too. Let's hope she finds her way to where they keep the IED's and sits on one of them, like she did when she was sitting on an anti-aircraft gun. You know, the type of gun that shot down American Pilots, whe were later tortured and killed. The same pilots who begged her for help in a hand written note. The same note that she handed over to the enemies. The same enemies we were fighting.
Jane Fonda is a disgrace, and should have been tried for treason, convicted, and hung from a rope until dead.
And to the person one line down....There is a HUGE difference between being Anti-War and giving aid and comfort to the enemy. Protest all you want to, but when you go to enemy soil, and betray your own countrymen, and cause the deaths and torture of American soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, or Marines, it is TREASON! So very foolish.
And last time I checked, offering an empty apology doesn't erase, or excuse the deed.

And, you could ask the same pointed question of all of her anti-american friends. They have no thoughtful plan for our future. Pathetically, they are just caught up in the sentiment of the moment for personal attention. In the early years of our nation they would have been classified as traitors and quickly dispatched to the gallows. We have gotten stupid and weak since that day, now being reduced to having their delusional rhetoric dumped into our living rooms.
Perhaps, one day, they can meet their Arab "heroes" on the business end of an IED right here in what is left of our country, thanks to them.

She's been trying to be good since apologizing hoping to sell more copies of her new book. But a leopard doesn't change it's spots....and she hasn't changed, not one damn bit. The demonstration was just the beginning. Wait and see. She will be back up to her old tricks. When will the American public wake up and stop supporting anything she is selling?

She is too self centered to wear a burka or she would hang out with them. I dont think there is anything she could ever say or do that would make me reconsider the common sense she opposes.

And what does all this have to do with Jane Fonda? The original incident (and if you read her autobiography, she was very much manipulated) happened when she was much younger and, let's face it, dumber. She's grown up since then, has publicly apologized for her actions and gone on with her life. My question to you, is what do you expect her to do now? Have you never realized that a past action was the result of youthful impetuosity? Or that you didn't have all the facts before you acted? If so, you can probably walk on water, but the rest of us can't, and that includes Jane Fonda.

So it's Jane Fonda now? Amazing how some people can be so narrow minded. What happened to American democracy and the right to expression? Do you mean that anyone who is against war, against fighting in other countries, and who is a peace activist should allign with terrorists? If your answer is yes, then I have nothing more to say. God bless you!
