I was told by a proffesional makeup artist and me and my friends swear by this.
Green evens up red so apply a light coat of green eyeshadow directly on the pimple, and blend it. If you have it then apply an oil free concealer or a jab of foundation on a cotton swab.
Another idea is after applying the green use a pressed powder.
What ever you do, don't pick at a pimple or squeeze when ever you are about to put makeup on or if you are putting makeup on. As this could irritate it. This counts for all makeup.
Also try putting some ice directly on the blemishes/pimples/ about 3 hours before you go out, for 10 minute altinations. This will make the swelling go down and make it idea to coverup or do not need coverup.
It will also help the pimple to vanish faster.

I use a cream concealer from Sheer Cover. I just dot the concealer over my blemishes and blend with my fingers. I only use concealer. Most girls only need concealer, unless you have uneven skin tones. Using a foundation on your entire face can create more acne problems in areas other than the ones you're trying to cover. You can prevent more breakouts by only covering the areas in need and making sure your hands and/or makeup brushes and sponges are clean. Also, make sure you remove the makeup as soon as you're home or don't need it anymore.

I love Revlon Colorstay. It has a great matte finish, but it dries quickly, so work quickly. I use a sponge to apply and take it off with Cetaphil and baking soda (just mix it in your hands). Also, salicylic acid will help clear up blemishes without burning as much as some other meds. Try Paula's Choice products if your skin is oily.

Dermablend: they use it to hide tattoos also, but make sure to get the one for the face, since you do not want to aggravate your skin.
Use it for special occasions.
But try bare minerals makeup for day to day: you have to apply is JUST as they reccomend, but I fought with acne for 20 years... and now for the first time is it manageable.
Good luck!

I use liquid Maybelline Pure Make up (the water based one). I apply it with a face lotion so my face doesnt dry up, and my pores don't get too cloged. Then I use the Maybelline Pure Make up powder cover up to get that matte look, and for extra coverage. works like a charm!
