Yes, if you look at the celebrities, they are all wearing darker colors. One thing that I have noticed though is that they aren't wearing black. They are wearing really dark (almost black) red or dark purples. I think it is perfect for the winter season - casual or formal. It can only be formal though if you are wearing darker clothes. Try not to wear dark nails with light/bright colors. It just looks trashy, I think. Remember though, spring is coming (hopefully soon) and lighter colors will be the trend.

Yes, black is still in, but not for Spring.

Also, if you wanted to try dark colors, you could use a vampy dark purple that is almost black, or a dark brown. These are also trendy.

Yes, it looks good when you're nails are cut short too. Long black nails are more Halloweenish then in-style.

Many people have black but only under the tips of their nails. The black usually disappears when mixing meat loaf with the hands.

I think it can still rock,but just with casual clothes....
For dressier clothes i would go with pale colors.
