In a fight to the death between a bear and a horse which would win?

good question: it may be a close fight. 1st the horse has some very dangerous weapons available to it. hooves are awesome for smashing skulls and spines. the horse also has the reach advantage. the fight would turn on if the horse could land a good killing blow early in the fight before the bear could get in close. but if the bear does get in close and get ahold of the horse it would probably be over since the horse wouldnt be able to manuver at close range. so depends

Tough question. There are so many different variety of horses and bears, it's impossible to make a general statement. I'd put the largest bear against the largest horse, to lvl the playing field.

3,200lb horse vs 1,800lb bear. The bear has deadly claws and a killer bite, where the horse has 3,200lbs of stomping power. A horse also has a 500lb leg that can kick with lightning speed. That much force could kick through a brick wall.

If the bear did get a hold of the horse, I still don't know that a bucking bronco couldn't free himself from those clutches and stomp the living bejesus out of that bear, granted he would have some shredded flesh.

I'm going with the horse.
