Pakistan are looking good as are India... they both have top quality batsmen (Inzimam and Yousof for Pakistan and Ganguly and obviouslly Dhoni and Tendulkar) backed up with good bowling but I don't think either are acustomed to the Caribean pitches.
Sri Lanka are a strong team but have some obvious holes that need to be filled.
England I feel will improve as a one day team but wont get that far unless they get kind opposition along the way.
The West Indies will be playing at home in conditions they know well and they have a strong team... good young bowlers and experienced batting from Chanderpaul, Lara etc.
West Indies and Pakistan would be my favourites but what it comes down to is...
Australia are awesome. With Hussey now in the team and Ponting seemingly better than ever, a good mix of youth and experience at the top of the order and for the bowling, I don't think many people would doubt them. If the conditions suit them then their opposition will have to work bloody hard and get their tactics perfect to stand a chance.

It's basically a choice between a) Australia and b) someone else, I'd say the Aussies are about even money. SA have been #2 for a while now, WI should do well at home but Gayle is not firing and he's a key player. India seem to be coming into form at the right time but their fielding is poor. Pakistan could beat Australia but lose to Holland, they don't have the consistency to win but could surprise. NZ have the firepower in Oram and McCullum but not a consistent runscorer at the top, SL rely too much on an aging Murali/Vaas/Jayasuriya. And England? Doing better today, but on last 18 months' form will do well to reach the Super 8s!

I think the answer has to be Australia there is no team at present with their all round ability even the absence of Shane Warne will not affect them to any great extent,I would like to see some team end their present dominance of cricket both test and one day internationals but who?

What do you mean the gap left by shane warne? he didnt, play ODIs. As for the question, the favourites are aussie, but i think have peaked too early, and they will be beaten in the semis, the winner will be out of NZ, SL, or WI.

As always Australia are favourites, but if a side like Sri Lanka or Pakistan hit form they could be contenders. But still, Australia.
