Your problem can be fixed by replacing the 72 pin on your console. You can do a search on yahoo to find out how to replace the pin. And you can find new pins on ebay. But if you dont feel comfortable doing this I would recommend paying to have someone else do it. You can also find consoles that have a new 72pin installed on ebay or local used game stores. But as I remember having to blow was always a part of playing nintendo...everyone did it.

Don't worry, I'm here to help your plight.

First off, blowing dust out of the case is a time honored tradition that none of these "DooD! go owt and bi a Wii!!! Shell out moneys!" kids know about. Don't worry about that

As for acually cleaning it, a q-tip soaked in rubbing alchohol should be run across the reader it of the cartraige (THe Chip looking thing at the bottom). Then, using the dry side of the q-tip, wipe the excess out and voila. It should be better. if not? CHeck a pawn shop. Cheaper than buying from a Wii

Not sure, but I feel the same as you. I grew up with those games. So, I bought my son a system (only $35) - it has all the old games on it. There's no difference in the games on the new system and the one I had as a kid. Needless to say, I play it more than him.

If you can...try to clean the leads. All those little golden teeth that you're blowing the dust off oxidizes overtime and can be cleaned by lightly rubbing a pencil eraser over them. Same with any of your hardware cards in your pc.

The leads may be dirty, dust is a major factor.
try using a little alcohol on a q-tip. It works if used in moderations.
or u can buy cleaners on ebay for not much.

Why don't you go and buy a Wii? You can play all the old games on it if you still have the cartridges.
