I can identify the live vs neutral cables by their colour with their female spade connectors intact but cannot see markings on the motor to say which way around they sh.
ould be connected. Unfortunately, the cable connectors detached during disassembly before I could mark them and so I only have as reference the 'memory' effect in the wire insulation to suggest which is the best natural fit.
Any help greatly appreciated from the world wide wisdom.

I don't know the board, but isn't there a designation silkscreened onto it near the terminals? There should at least be a ground symbol on that terminal and maybe L-N-E. Otherwise, if there is a fuse holder on it, trace back and that will be the live terminal- you never fuse a neutral.
