Get some good drawing paper, prisma color pencils, good calligraphy pens, and do it. I make cards all the time since I am an amateur artist.

Take a picture of your pet (dog or cat) in a cute pose with a heart under her paw (if she's a cat) or hanging from her collar (if she's a dog). Write your message bright and clear on the heart
and have lots of copies made. Sometimes, they can make the picture into a kind of postcard. You could also just mail it in an envelope and sign the back of the picture and write 'Happy Valentine's Day!' Spell everything correctly. Take a lot of pictures and use the best one or ones.
