Cuba is a beautiful Island with many different things to do. There are beaches, mountains, waterfalls, etc. There is a wide variety of culture and people. There is the city (Havana) which offers a lot of tourism activities. The rural areas are less populated with tourists and can be a very humbling experience. To see these people with nothing, be so happy and caring towards one another. My husband is Cuban from a rural province and I am amazed at how close of a family they are. it is a tropical island so the temps are warm and the beaches are beautiful !!! I left a couple links for you to check out.

Cuba is interesting - most of the people are warm and hospitable and so willing to share the little they have. The food is not great, though I did have a few great meals. It is not as cheap as it used to be. Know that it is a Third World Country and poor, so don't go expecting Hawaii or Cancun! If you are the type of traveller who wants to learn about other cultures and doesn't expect Club Med, you would be more likely to enjoy the experience. The beaches are very nice (I have personally been to beaches in Varadero, Trinidad and Cienfuegos) and I prefer spending more time in smaller towns and not as much in Havana.

Cuba is awesome, I've been there twice. I stayed in Cayo Coco, and found everyone to be pleasantly friendly. It helps if you know a bit of the language, if not, there are plenty of people who speak english. As for tipping, I suggest bringing notebooks and pens for the maids, old clothes, nailpolish and remover, hair elastics etc. Bartenders and bellboys like the same things for their wives and children. Although money does go a long way - I'm sure you will enjoy yourself immensly !!!

Cuba is a beautiful country to visit, you need to visit it asap before the U.S. influenece the country with Walmart, KFC, McDonalds, Best Buy, etc. The culture and the arichtecture are great. The people are friendly. The food is limited but it's very tasty. The seafood is cheap, depends where you go. Go visit Havana and enjoy the culture.
