I had left a company almost a year ago. I called today to find out what my re-hire status is and I was told that the comapny dosn't give out that kind of information.

you don't have a right to know(policy) however if they liked you and you left in good standing(not fired) then there should be no problem with you getting re-hired if the position is available

No you don't. It's also probably a sign they don't want you back.
