hi i have oneida silverware that is stainless. but my knives get hardwater stains that look like rust on them all the time. i try to wipe them off with a rag, but not all of it comes off. also, when i put them back in the dishwasher they just become stined up again. what can i do? its weird because i have a cheaper set of meat knives from ikea that never get these stains on them. anyway, any suggestions on how i can keep them clean of stains? thanks.

when you run your dishwasher put a splash of distilled vinegar in the bottom. this will keep the stains from coming back.

yes this is a problem many people have come across, first you have to make sure you add plenty dishwasher salt to the machine. also it´s not a great idea to put your best cutlery in the dishwasher as the tablets for washing the dishes have lot´s of strong chemicals, which eat away at the metal . I myself use a natural stone cleaner cream , I use it for most of my household cleaning , It clean´s almost every metal there is , Gold Silver, Bronze Stainless Steel, Brass, gets rid of that nasty limescale , cleans all the bathroom , great for cleaning window´s . I could go on for a long time telling you how many thing´s it cleans, Just in case you think I´m a sale´s person , I´m not I´m just a normal housewife, My niece introduced me to this product which is called

Try a paste of baking soda and white vinegar and lemon juice. Rub it in with a soft white cloth and let it set for a minute then rinse well. This works on sink faucets and handles too.

My husband is a mechanic on tractor trailers.
