oh yeah it is weird, it is awesome!!!
What a bunch of crap. You people are so gullible it makes me worried.
If you take enough drugs, ANY album will go along with ANY movie.
I can hardly Imagine Pink Floyd ( who are, when all is said and done, a British Rock Band) paying homage to "the wizard of oz" , a 1930's Hollywood film in this way. I mean, how likely would THAT be?

Yes, I've done it.
Start Pink Floyd at the second roar of the MGM lion just before the movie begins.
Probably a coincidence, but pretty cool nonetheless.

Is that why there's a rainbow on the Floyd cover?
Personally, in various altered states I've listened to it with any number of things muted on the telly and - surprise surprise - they all seemed to "fit" at the time!

Yeah, you start DSotM when the MGM lion roars for...the 3rd time, I think it is.
Side note: I have this really cool version of DSotM done by a bunch of reggae artists. It's called Dub Side of the Moon. Sounds crazy, I know, but it works. It really does.

Yeah. It works.
But sit and watch T.V. sometime while listening to a CD....any CD, any channel/movie....and you'll see correlations.
